Tina Turner Has Died After a Long Illness

The woman who put sizzle in Rock and Roll, Tina Turner has died in Switzerland. She was 83. Her sometimes-tragic life has been the subject of both books and documentaries.

She rose from very humble beginning on a cotton farm in Tennessee to become the female performer that put on a sexy and energetic live show. Mick Jagger even admitted to being influenced by her live show for his own shows.

She was the perfect artist to be the “Acid Queen”. A role she played in the “Tommy” film. No one could have been a better pick.

Once she retired and moved to Switzerland, she started having some health issues. In 2016 she was diagnosed with internal Cancer and in 2017 she had a kidney transplant.

Rest in peace.
